Deana and I attended the Great Chicken Rally last week. This was the first time going there for us.
It was about 455 miles down there. Funny, but it was almost the same coming back !
I think there were just over 600 people at the rally. And apparently, this year, they no longer had chicken 24 hours a day. Only at the regular lunch and dinner times was chicken, or meals, served. There was plenty of food to go around and the variety was pretty good. Any flavor chicken you wanted, as long as it was roasted.
The facilities were pretty good, and the camping area was decent and not far from the activities.
The highlight of the trip for us was the fact that Deana won a Kermit chair in the drawing for door prizes. Pretty nice prize I might say.
We saw Tom and I believe his name is John there. That was the only other BMW club members we knew.
There was a good selection of various brands of bikes, and seemed to be a lot of sidecars and three wheelers present.
And they even had a decent little vintage bike show, with maybe a dozen old bikes.
We got a few showers on the way down on Friday morning, and then again on Sunday on the way home, but for the most part, the weather was pretty decent and the temps didn't get very hot, for which we are very glad.
We stayed in the Kings Inn motel, about 4 miles away from the rally site. And there's a good diner about 100 ft away from the motel. Nice !
We met lots of nice people too, some which we'd seen at other rally's, but didn't really know them.
